Vignaioli Selections founder and owner Dino Tantawi is in Italy this week attending Vinitaly in Verona, the Italian wine trade’s annual fair and the largest wine fair in the world.
Before heading to Verona this weekend, though, he took time out to visit a number of Vignaioli’s top wineries in Tuscany: Collemattoni and La Fornace in Montalcino where Brunello is produced, Conventino in Montepulciano, producer of Vino Nobile, and La Sala in Chianti Classico.
That’s Dino, above, left, tasting with Fabio Giannetti, owner and winemaker at La Fornace, one of Vignaioli’s most popular high-end wines.
Part of what makes the Vignaioli portfolio so unique is Dino’s decades-old relationships with growers and winemakers. Not only is he one of the most beloved Italian wine professionals working in the U.S. today, but he’s also a veteran and expert taster who has been traveling to Italy for more than 30 years.
