Brunello di Montalcino Initial Release Dinner

Private dinner at the Four Seasons Restaurant to celebrate the Direct Import release of the 1998 Brunello di Montalcino and the 1997 Riserva from La Fornace and Collemattoni. Fabio Giannetti, winemaker for La Fornace, and Marcello Bucci, winemaker for Collemattoni walked guests through a special vertical tasting of their exceptional Brunello vintages since 1995. Gathering to share in the tasting were Patrick Alexander, Robert Castleberry, Roger Dagorn, Julian Nicollini, Rick Moonen, and Dan Perlman. The menu was bold and creative in the way it paired fish (salmon), small fowl, venison and steak with the various vintages. Each dish complimented and highlighted differentelements in each wine and proved how versitile and rich these wines really are.
