Vignaioli

Vignaioli Selection (Vignaioli), based in New York City, is an award-winning niche importer of the some of the finest, hand-selected Italian and Austrian wines since 1999.

Vignaioli offers a unique collection of cult wines from boutique producers in Italy and Austria by maintaining a strict adherence to founder Dino Tantawi’s philosophy of “terroir” driven wines – the total natural environment of any viticultural site, as defined in terms of climate, sunlight, geography, wind and soil/water relations.

Vignaioli’s portfolio consists of 280 exclusive wines from 47 producers throughout ten regions in Italy and Austria. Vignaioli’s portfolio has drawn praise from The New York Times, The Wine Spectator, Robert Parker, Wine & Spirits Magazine, Gambero Rosso Wine Guide and The Wall Street Journal. These producers all share a common approach to making the best tasting wines by using organic, biodynamic or sustainable farming methods.

Mr. Tantawi’s wine discovery and selection process takes him to countless vineyards across Italy and Austria each year. He carefully evaluates and interviews each producer and chooses to import only the highest quality wines, mostly from small family-owned operations with no market presence in the United States. As such, Vignaioli has establishes exclusive contracts with all producers.

Vignaioli wines are featured in an impressive list of more than 400 highly rated restaurants, hotels and wine retailers throughout the United States, including Marea, Babbo and Del Posto in New York City, Le Cirque and Alex Restaurant in Las Vegas, and Scott Conant’s Scarpetta at the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills.
