Vinification & Aging: |
The vines are cultivated in a traditional system. The grapes from these 56-60 year old vines were harvested by hand at the end of August/beginning of September. Fermentation was done in steel tanks under temperature control, with natural yeasts. The maceration period lasted 27 days. Aging took place in French oak barrels for 15 months and was bottled on January 10, 2004 and then aged an additional 3-4 months in the bottle prior to release. |

Extremely dark, dense in color. Full-bodied, with extreme fruit concentration and a distinctive bitter almond finish. Elegant wine with aromatic complexity and rich tannins that require bottle aging. |
