In 1900, Francesco Calderone’s grandfather, the Count of Belfito, purchased the land where Buceci sits today. Initially the estate was dedicated to the production of corn and cereal. Then, in 1980, Francesco inherited the land and planted his first vines. Today it is distinguished by being one of the few wineries to grow vines at 1,000 meters. Despite the altitude, the farm is entirely organic – using no plant protection or chemical additives.
