In 1973 the Zaccagnini brothers established their Azienda Agricola (farm company) driven by a hobby that became a real passion during the time. Mario devoted himself to this activity and passed on his same passion to his daughter Rossella and to Franco, establishing a family owned farm and business. The evolution of the activity was supported by paricular and territorial Conditions in Staffolo. In the last years, spectacular improvements in the product quality have been obtained thanks to a careful selection of the grapes, as well as to the research and new technologies.
The winemaking and sales base is ‘La Casina’ vineyard in the La Pila district, and two kilometers further north is ‘I Marmi’, a completely restructured farmhouse with a panoramic view overlooking the vines. The third farmhouse, ‘I Marta’, recently renovated, will soon produce white grapes. Cecilia Estate lies on the Etruscan Coast Wine Route.
