Brunello di Montalcino Direct Import Dinner

Small, private dinner at the then newly-opened ‘Cesca, Tom Vallente’s Southern Italian offering to the Upper West Side.  The dinner celebrated Marcello Bucci, winemaker from Collemattoni and Fabio Giannetti, winemaker from La Fornace and the release of their Brunello di Montalcino 1998 and Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 1997 (and a preview of the 1999).  Dino, Marcello and Fabio were joined by Godfrey Polistina, Fred Twomey and James Stewart of Bar Veloce, Patrick Beckford and others.  Tom Vallente’s menu was traditionally Italian, but each dish creatively highlighted different qualities in the wines.  An excellent dining experience!
